dear you,
hello to you and to august. in new york, the weather is starting to break like a yolk. I’ve noticed that the heat rises and when the sky seems unable to take it anymore, summer storms come in fiercely and violently.
as a desert baby, I love it. I’ve felt storm-starved for years.
this week, we continue with our poems of thirst. this week, we talk about insatiability. bless it. praise is. listen here.
xo,
July
Writing prompt: this week’s poem features repetition, concepts of praise (to both holy and unholy alike), and a couplet at the end that repeats/refrains. Using Joy Harjo’s words as an example, write something that either expands/breaks a concept with repetition or establishes routine with it.
